Sunderland 1-0 Shrewsbury Town

Sunderland scraped into the next round of the Capital One Cup after securing a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town on Wednesday evening.

The game's only goal arrived in the 83rd minute courtesy of a long range effort from on-loan Manchester United winger, Adnan Januzaj.

Fulham 2-1 Middlesbrough

Fulham pulled off a shock, as they defeated Premier League outfit Middlesbrough 2-1 in extra time.

David Nugent handed Boro the lead after eight minutes, but the Championship outfit hit back through a Julien De Sart own goal, forcing the game into extra-time.

Fulham secured the win in the 113th minute when Lasse Vigen Christensen slotted home from close range.

Accrington Stanley 1-0 Burnley

Accrington Stanley pulled off the biggest shock of the round, as they defeated Burnley 1-0 in extra-time.

The League Two outfit clinched the victory in the final minute of extra-time, as Matty Pearson scrambled home from close range.

Morecambe 1-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth booked their spot in the third round, after securing a 2-1 win over League Two outfit, Morecambe.

 

Ivorian Max Gradel handed the Premier League side the lead after eight minutes, before Morcecambe leveled matters in the 14th minute through Cole Stockton.

The Cherries then secured the win after 54 minutes courtesy of a fine strike from Marc Wilson.
