Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly planning to sign a player, who is considered by many to be a world-class footballer, for free at the end of the season.
According to Marca, Los Blancos are believed to be preparing a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, who could leave the Bundesliga giants as a free agent next year.
The 28-year-old is said to be no nearer to extending his stay with the club than he was a year ago, and has reportedly been unhappy with Bayern's contract offers to date.
As a result, many top European sides are said to be interested in the Austrian international, including LaLiga champions Real, who are now understood to be prioritising the signing of the versatile defender.
It has also been claimed that Alaba has always wanted to represent the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners.
Having joining the Bavarians' youth ranks in 2008, he has amassed 396 senior appearances for the club, contributing to 81 goals and winning 23 trophies along the way.
