David Alaba, who is seemingly set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, has revealed what the club did that felt like a "slap in the face".
The 28-year-old Austria international has been in contract negotiations with the German giants for longer than a year, and there now appears to be clarity over his future.
"After the second or third conversation (about the new contract), I got a call and was asked if I could imagine being included in a swap deal. That probably was a slap in the face," he said, according to Goal.
"The respect and appreciation I was looking for when the contract negotiations started were not going in the right direction. That was a year ago now. In times when coronavirus was still very far away."
Alaba was then asked if his time with the Bavarians is coming to an end.
