Bayern Munich cemented top spot in the Bundesliga with a slender win over Augsburg on Wednesday evening.

The visitors got the opening goal on 13 minutes after Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty.

Augsburg had the chance to pull level in the 76th minute from the penalty spot, but Alfred Finnbogason sent his effort against the upright as the Bavarians held on for the wine.

RB Leipzig reclaimed second position with a 1-0 success over Union Berlin at the Red Bull Arena.

Emil Forsberg got the game's only goal in the 70th minute, taking his tally to four league goals for the season.

Freibrug and Eintracht Frankfurt settled for a share of the spoils at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.

Amin Younes put the visitors ahead after six minutes before Roland Sallai levelled matters in the 32nd minute.

Nils Petersen completed the turnaround for Freiburg after 63 minutes, but an own goal from Keven Schlotterbeck earned Frankfurt a point.

Arminia Bielefeld extended their unbeaten to three matches with an impressive 3-0 triumph over Stuttgart.

Fabian Klos opened the scoring on 27 minutes, before an own goal from Marc Kempf and another strike from Ritus Doan wrapped up the win.

Koln got back to winning ways in the league with a 2-1 triumph over Schalke.

Rafael Czichos and a late strike by Jan Thielmann sealed the win for the visitors, cancelling out Matthew Hoppe's lone strike for Schalke.
