Kane and Kim Minjae earned their full debuts for the Bavarians, who lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig in the Super Cup last weekend.

Kane didn't take long to make his presence felt when he executed a flick-on around the half-way line for Leroy Sane to go and tuck in the opener four minutes from kick-off.

Bremen seemed to have levelled matters  six minutes later as a telling free-kick by Marvin Ducksch  found Niclas Fullkrug, who headed home but the goal was disallowed for an offisde.

With 30 minutes gone on the clock, Kane nearly made it two after getting on the end of Sane's corner but goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka's firm glove thwarted him.

The host got a perfect chance to pull level soon after halftime through Leonardo Bittencourt from a teasing ball by Fullkrug, but the former slammed wide.

Bayern were presented a golden chance to go two up inside 60 minutes when Kingsley Coman collected a layoff from Alphonso Davies and struck the upright after cutting an angle.

Kane opened his account when he connected timeously with a counter-attack led by Davies over ten minutes to go and picked out the bottom-corner.

Bavarians coach Thomas Tuchel brought on fresh faces eight minutes to the end, as Kane made way for Mathys Tel before Eric Choupo-Moting replaced Coman.

Bayern snatched a third goal in the added time when Sane latched onto a cutback from Thomas Muller following quick inter-play and bundled past Pavlenka for his second goal of the day.

Substitute Tel joined the party on 94 minutes after he turned home Davies' cross beyond a static Pavlenka and saw Bayern to a resounding victory on the opening day.
