With Bayern Munich looking to strengthen ahead of next season, the German champions might reportedly have to break their club record transfer fee if they are to land Manchester City star Leroy Sane's signature.
Bayern Boss Tells 'Out Of Place' Star To Leave
According to The Guardian, the Bavarians have had an €80 million (R1.3 billion) bid for the Germany winger rejected by the Citizens.
Sane has been heavily linked with a move back to his country of birth, with Bayern believed to be desperate for his signature.
The 23-year-old has struggled to break into Pep Guardiola's starting XI in recent times, with the likes Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva being preferred over the former Schalke man.
Sane's relationship with his Spanish manager seemed to take strain in the past year, with Guardiola appearing to be unhappy with the player's lack of effort in pre-season training.
Although it was never said by either the manager or Sane, perhaps the player was feeling uninspired after being left out of Germany's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, especially following his excellent 2017/18 campaign.
Sane would undoubtedly add quality to Bayern's squad, but in order to lure him back to Germany, the league winners might have to up their bid.
Bayern Confirm Interest In Man City Star
Lucas Hernandez is currently the club's most expensive signing in history, with his €80 million move to Bayern being confirmed earlier this year.
