Bayern 'Eye' Two Surprise Replacements For Tuchel

Bayern Munich have reportedly identified a couple of candidates who could potentially replace Thomas Tuchel should they fire him the midst of mounting scrutiny against him.

With Thomas Tuchel under serious pressure regarding his managerial position at Bayern Munich, the German giants have now reportedly identified two surprise candidates to potentially replace him.

The German tactician is perhaps going through his most turbulent time since arriving at the Allianz Arena.

A loss to Lazio in the first leg of their round of 16 UEFA Champions League clash was sandwiched between Bundesliga defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and most recently to VfL Bochum.

Their latest league defeat has seen the pressure on Tuchel intensify, with the powers-that-be at Sabener Strasse now reportedly evaluating the 50-year-old's position on a game-by-game basis.

While it has been said they are willing to keep him in the job until the end of the season, Sky Germany claims that the record German champions are already looking at replacements.

As per the abovementioned publication, in an ideal world, the six-time European champions would wait until the end of the campaign to appoint one of their main targets in Zinedine Zidane.

Leverkusen manager, and former Bayern star, Xabi Alonso is also a top candidate for the Munich club, but given that Liverpool are also interested in his services, the Frenchman is seen as a more achievable candidate.

Bayern chiefs reportedly appreciate the former Real Madrid boss' aura and experience, and think he would acclimatise well to the club.

Should the Bundesliga giants decide to part ways with Tuchel this season, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly seen as a prime candidate to step in immediately, with Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said to have been following the Norwegian's career and see him as the ideal tactician to see out the rest of the campaign should the former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea boss leave prematurely.
