Bayern Munich Boss Tells 'Out Of Place' Star To Leave

Bayern Munich Boss Tells 'Out Of Place' Star To Leave

While Bayern Munich celebrated an emotional send-off for three of their long-term players recently, one of their highest-paid stars is seemingly being forced out of the club after being advised to find himself a new team.

The German giants celebrated the double on Saturday after beating RB Leipzig 3-0 in the DFB Pokal final.

A week earlier, they lifted their 29th German top flight title and gave wing duo Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, and right-back Rafinha a much-celebrated farewell ahead of their final Bundesliga game for the club.

Both Robben and Ribery came off the bench and scored in their final league game, while they also made an appearance in the DFB Pokal final.

However, while the three club legends, who have made 1 000 appearances and lifted 64 trophies between them, will leave the club on good terms, it seems there could be a dispute between Bayern and Jerome Boateng.

The centre-back was an unused substitute in both of Bayern's final games of the campaign, and did not join his teammates' celebrations after the final whistle, which has seemingly led to Bayern's president suggesting that it would be best if the player leaves the club.

"He must seek a new challenge, it's better for him," Uli Hoeness said, as quoted by ESPN.

"I'd advise Boateng to leave FC Bayern. I believe it would be better for him to enjoy a different air. I believe he must seek a new challenge, it's better for him.

"He looks completely out of place."

Unlike Rafinha, Robben and Ribery, though, Boateng still has two years left on his contract, which reportedly sees him earn a whopping €12 million (R194 million) a season.

According to Bild, the 30-year-old does not want to leave the club after his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain last year collapsed due to the French giants unwillingness to meet Bayern's €38 million (R615 million) asking price.

Boateng joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2011, and has since made 286 appearances for the Bavarians, lifting 18 trophies along the way.
