The Belgian tactician was recently unveiled as Bayern's new manager ahead of the 2024/25 season, despite overseeing the Clarets' relegation from the Premier League to the EFL Championship.
Kompany, 38, became a target for the Bavarians after several high-profile managers reportedly turned down approaches from the Bundesliga club.
According to Football Insider, it has not taken long for the former Manchester City captain to identify a goalkeeping target, with Bayern said to be interested in Burnley's James Trafford.
The report claims the German side will rival Newcastle United and Liverpool for the 21-year-old's signature in the coming transfer window.
Trafford endured a difficult first season of Premier League football, conceding 62 goals in 28 matches.
It is said Burnley could sell the England U21 international for about £20 million (R475.6 million), with the player still under contract until 2027.
