When the 2024/25 season comes to an end, Joshua Kimmich will have been at the Allianz Arena for a decade.
The trophy-laden midfielder arrived from Stuttgart in 2015 as an understudy to club icon Philipp Lahm and has gone on to establish his own legend at the club, amassing 20 titles during his time with the Bavarian giants.
However, whether the Germany international stays for an 11th year remains to be seen, as the Rottweil native is yet to extend his expiring contract.
The 97-capped German international will be a free agent at the end of the season as things stand, and according to Sky Sports Germany, the record Bundesliga champions have now told him that he needs to decide by early January 2025 whether he will be staying or leaving.
Clubs outside of Germany will be able to negotiate pre-contracts with Kimmich as soon as 1 January 2025, and it seems Bayern are not keen on losing one of their star players on a free transfer.

One of the teams monitoring the situation is Barca. The emergence of Marc Casado has meant that the need for the 29-year-old is not as urgent, but with his former coach Hansi Flick now in charge of the Catalan giants and this iteration of the club's squad being so youthful, the Spanish outfit are more than willing to welcome him if he is prepared to accept the salary restrictions currently in place.
