England Legend Picks His Ballon d'Or Favourite

England Legend Picks His Ballon d'Or Favourite
England goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton has revealed whom he would back to win the Ballon d'Or this year.   Read: Former Real Star Reveals His Ballon D'Or Favourite   Shilton used Argentina legend Diego Maradona as the benchmark, insisting that Cristiano Ronaldo, and not Lionel Messi, showed the characteristics to lead a team to victory on his own.   "Messi is hugely talented, but he lacks the leadership qualities of his compatriot Diego Maradona, who could win matches on his own," Shilton told the Plymouth Herald.   "Cristiano has also done that. Neymar is very young and he could only get better."   Ronaldo has netted 21 goals in 20 games for Real Madrid this season.    Read: Ronaldo Criticises Real's Transfer Policy   The Portugal all-time leading goal scorer has won the Ballon d'Or for two years running.
