The Moroccan giants have not had a particularly enjoyable 2023/24 season.
The Red Castle were dumped out of the CAF Champions League at the group stage, and now mathematically cannot win the Botola Pro League as they trail table-toppers FAR Rabat by a mammoth 24 points.
These shortfalls both continentally and domestically have led to the departure of Faouzi Benzarti as the head coach of the record Moroccan champions, and they are said to already be searching for a successor to the Tunisian.
According to 365 Kora, among the tacticians being considered for the job is Mosimane. The Kagiso native is currently in Saudi Arabia trying to help keep Abha away from relegation, but with his contract in the Middle East up at the end of the season, the possibility of his acquisition is a realistic one after the ongoing campaign concludes.
Another name Wydad is said to be contemplating is that of Carlos Queiroz. The Portuguese tactician is currently without a job after being let go by the Qatar national team in December 2023.

The two aforementioned coaches will, however, cost a lot of money to employ so Wydad could head in the direction of appointing Tarek Mostafa, who, unlike Mosimane and Queiroz, has experience coaching in Morocco, having previously been head coach of Difaa El Jadida, Rapide Oued Ze and Olympique Safi.
