Liverpool superstar Salah is one of only two active players in Africa's top 10, having scored 43 times for Egypt to date.
Salah will have a chance to add to his tally when the Pharaohs take on Togo in a double-header on Saturday and Tuesday.
The 28-year-old, though, is not his country's record goalscorer. Hossam Hassan netted 68 times during his playing days, according to the Rec.Sports.Soccer Statistics Foundation.
The Egypt legend is in third place among the top international scorers from the continent, while Malawi's Kinnah Phiri takes up second position with 71 goals.
Zambia's Godfrey Chitalu is Africa's all-time record goalscorer with 79 goals during his playing career, and Salah would need to score another 36 goals for the Pharaohs to match his record.
