The 10 Biggest Stadiums In Africa

With stadiums around the world returning to full capacity, here is a reminder of which venues on the African continent are among the 10 biggest, a list that includes two South African grounds!

In the recent international break, Hugo Broos' South Africa beat Ethiopia 3-1 at the Bahir Dar Stadium, which is known to be the 10th biggest football arena on the continent

Due to its capacity of 60 500, the stadium is currently used as a multi-purpose venue for sporting and non-sporting events in the East African country.

According to worldatlas.com, Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg is the ninth-largest ground on the African continent with a capacity of 62 567.

Further up the list is the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt with an impressive 74 100 capacity, a venue that was built between 1955 and 1960 in Nasr City. Interestingly, the ground could hold more than 100 000 people before it was changed to an all-seater stadium.
