Simba Official: 'We Know They Don't Have Many Fans Around'

Tanzanian side Simba SC are looking to capitalise on Stellenbosch FC playing their home leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final in a different province this Sunday.

The Reds of Msimbazi hold a 1-0 lead over the Betway Premiership side and will be looking to advance to a continental final for the first time in the club's history.

Simba's media official Ahmed Ally spoke to Pan-Africa Football and said the Tanzanian side was ready and excited at the possibility of making their first final

"Every player in the squad is ready and willing to help Simba qualify for the final, no player has lost hope (in our qualification chances), following the outcome of the first leg at home, every player is eager to take Simba to the first-ever final, every player is seeing the final very close," Ally said to Pan-Africa Football.

Ally said the players have delivered well this season by qualifying for the semi-finals but the goal was to go one step further.

"The players have promised nothing but a qualification ticket to the final, the players have already achieved reaching the semis, they have already seen their success so far in the competition, and they are eager to use this as a springboard to qualify for the final," the official said.

Despite Stellenbosch playing at home, they will be using Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium instead of DHL Stadium in Cape Town due to a scheduling conflict, ESPN reported.

Ally urged Tanzanians living near Durban to come out and support the side to overwhelm the Stellenbosch fans.

"We will move across Durban to urge Tanzanians living around to attend the game, we all know that our rivals don’t have many fans around, we want them to be shocked when they enter the pitch during the game, they will every corner with red- t-shirts," Ally added.
