A Premier Soccer League star has made it on to the final 10-man shortlist for the 2018 CAF African Footballer of the Year award.

CAF initially announced a 34-man shortlist on 30 November, but has now cut the nominees down to just 10 names.
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango, who won CAF's African Player of the Year – Based in Africa accolade in 2016, remains on the list, while his former teammate Percy Tau was dropped.
Tau was on the initial shortlist, but does not appear among the final nine nominees announced on Friday.
Mohamed Salah is the favourite to defend his title from last year, while the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane will rival him for the award.

CAF also announced the final nominees for their other awards categories:
