Mokwena is a free agent once again after his contract with Wydad was terminated.

While nothing has been clarified yet, reports from Radio Mars suggest that Mokwena is a candidate to take over at Zamalek.

Mokwena reportedly received an offer from the White Castle to take over the team going into 2025/26 season.

The Moroccan outfit revealed that it had agreed to terminate Mokwena's contract after he had been placed on special leave just weeks prior.

"Wydad Athletic Club and Rulani Mokwena have mutually agreed to terminate their contract with immediate effect," the club announced.

Mokwena shared his gratitude to the Red Castle for the opportunity to coach the side and he wished them well ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
