Luis Miquissone Set For Al Ahly Exit?

Luis Miquissone Set For Al Ahly Exit?

With rumours suggesting that Percy Tau is set for an exit from Al Ahly, it seems his teammate Luis Miquissone could be following suit.

Official: Al Ahly Fire Head Coach

With the 2021/22 Egyptian Premier League season having just concluded, the Red Devils have already started to get rid of personnel they deem surplus to requirements.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed Al Ahly had sacked head coach Ricardo Soares after only two months at the helm.

A player who could be suffering a similar fate is South African Percy Tau, with the diminutive forward having been of keen interest to French second division side Le Havre in particular, although it remains to be seen where he will play next if he does leave.

Another Red Devil whose future is not clear is Mozambican Miquissone.

The 27-year-old, like Tau, has been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent months. Under Soares, the former Mamelodi Sundowns man featured in all but two games after returning from a knee injury.

However, with the Portuguese tactician gone, it is uncertain whether or not Miquissone will be at the Club of the Century next season.

Sources in Egypt have told Soccer Laduma the forward has been transfer-listed and will be leaving Al Ahly next season.

The 47-capped international has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs and a possible return to Tanzanian giants Simba SC. Soccer Laduma understands a loan to Saudi Pro League side Abha Club could also be likely, but this remains to be seen.

When asked about his client's future, Miquissone's agent Thato Matuka insisted the club would be the best place to receive clarity on the matter.

"Let's allow the club to pronounce on the future of Luis…," he stated.

"There has been rumours since June, the employer would be best equipped to tackle this."

To date, club officials have refused to comment on the matter.
