The president of Raja Club Athletic who oversaw Josef Zinnbauer’s undefeated league title-winning campaign has officially been sentenced to five years in prison.

Mohamed Boudrika appears to be a polarising figure at the North African giants. While he presided over monumental achievements in the club’s history – including their 2013 FIFA Club World Cup final appearance and becoming the first and only Moroccan team to go an entire league campaign unbeaten – his image at the club will likely be tainted after the Casablanca Criminal Court of First Instance issued its final ruling in the case involving the former football executive.
The Public Prosecution had charged Boudrika with serious offences, including fraud, forgery, and issuing bad cheques. Almost exactly a year ago, At the time, reports speculated that his visit to Germany was an attempt to persuade Zinnbauer to remain at the club amid links to the Saudi Pro League, the then Green Eagles president was arrested at Hamburg Airport based on a European Arrest Warrant issued.
He had not been in Morocco during the latter stages of the club’s historic double-winning 2023/24 season, and it was suggested that he was evading the law. However, he was eventually arrested in Germany for financial crimes allegedly committed and was later extradited to Morocco.

In addition to his five-year prison sentence, Boudrika has also been ordered to pay $66,400 (R1.1 million) in fines.
