Following the signing of Ime Okon, Hannover 96 managing director Markus Mann has praised the South African defender.
Official: Bafana Defender Joins German Side
The German side announced Okon's signing on the first day of the transfer window (1 July) on a four-year-deal. The former SuperSport United defender is the club's 13th signing of this season.
Speaking during Okon's unveiling, Hannover's Markus Mann was full of praise for Okon and admitted he was a signing who came with great potential.
"Ime is a player with exciting potential and very good physical attributes," Mann said on the club website.
"Christian Titz and André Kilian have been observing his development for some time. We then collected data on him during scouting and evaluated his athletic profile, which is exceptional," he added.
Mann was clear about Okon's potential but admitted the South African international would need time to adjust to life in Germany.
"It's quite clear that he will need time to adapt, but he is extremely willing to learn, so we definitely see the potential in him to develop really well. Now we want him to settle in well in Hannover and into our team," the director concluded.
Okon was excited to see his growth following the switch from South Africa to Germany.
