Emmanuel Emenike, who has been without a club since 2019, is said to have had a medical centre constructed in Owerri, Imo State, in Nigeria.

It remains unclear as to when the 33-year-old's luxury hospital will be open, but news of his plans to build one first came to light in December 2018.

A report from OmaSports in January suggested that the hospital could begin business soon, after a friend of the former Fenerbahce forward shared a video on Instagram congratulating Emenike on using his wealth to help people back in his home country.

The striker joined now-defunct Black Aces in 2008 from Delta Force in Nigeria, before joining another club that has since been sold, FC Cape Town, a year later.

He then took his career to Turkey, where he represented Kardemir Karabukspor and Fenerbahce, before moves to Spartak Moscow in Russia and Al-Ain in United Arab Emirates.

Emenike was lured to the Premier League by West Ham United in 2016, and has since had spells at Olympiacos, Las Palmas and KVC Westerlo.

He was also part of the Super Eagles' 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, scoring three goals to help inspire his nation to success.
