With Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma having been subbed off just before the hour mark during Mali's game against Bafana Bafana earlier this week, it has now reportedly been revealed why he had to be withdrawn.
Bissouma was one of the players to look out for during Mali's opening clash of the Africa Cup of Nations. However, the Spurs playmaker lasted just 58 minutes before he was replaced by Lassana Coulibaly of Salernitana.
The Eagles would eventually score twice after the substitution was, sealing a 2-0 victory over Hugo Broos' men.

Some credited Bafana midfield duo Teboho Mokoena and Sphephelo Sithole for neutralising the Bissouma, as the former Brighton Hove Albion found it difficult to impose himself in the game.
It has since been revealed that playmaker's withdrawal was not entirely a tactical decision, but rather a change that was necessary given his condition on the day.
According to Sport News Africa, the 27-year-old star tested positive for malaria alongside compatriot Moussa Diarra, who was left out of the squad completely.
The report also claims that the two players were eventally isolated ahead of the side's next game against Tunisia on Saturday night. It is also reported that Bissouma is now a doubt for the fixture.
According to Transfermarkt, Bissouma has made 25 appearances for Mali, registering two goals and four asists.
