Motsepe Reveals What Has Made Him Unhappy At The 2023 AFCON

While CAF president Dr. Patrice Motsepe has revealed that he has been impressed with the Africa Cup of Nations, the South African executive also mentioned two particular things he was displeased with.

In a press conference prior to the penultimate set of fixtures of the continental showpiece, the head of African football's governing body addressed the media and gave an overview of the competition thus far.

Amongst the good things that the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns chairman claimed happened this iteration of the continental showpiece was the two billion viewers that tuned in as well.

The 62-year-old also acknowledge the public's adoration of the football on show, but he also expressed his displeasure on two particular issues.

"There are certain things I am not happy about," the Ga-Rankuwa native started off by telling members of the media.

"And they said to me some I should not talk about but let me give you an example. The game between Senegal and Gambia, part of it was interrupted. We can't have that, we absolutely cannot have that. There should be zero tolerance of any interference or any interruption of the broadcasting.

"The second thing is, I was told that some of the media people in a bus were involved in an accident."

A number of journalists were involved in a crash earlier this tournament when the bus they were taking from Yamoussoukro back to Abidjan late in the evening injured several media following Senegal's 2-0 over Guinea.
