Lorenzo Gordinho was one of the few shining lights in Kaizer Chiefs' campaign, but after his display against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday evening, he has found himself in hot water. Did you see his hand of god, or rather, hand of Gord?
The Kaizer Chiefs centre back, who has stepped into his own this season, put the Glamour Boys into the lead when he turned the ball into the back of the net just after the hour mark.
His goal initially looked like a header, but slow replays reveal that he, in fact, directed the ball past Denis Onyango with his flailing hand.
Check out a screenshot of the incident.
This goal has, naturally, been compare to that of Diego Maradona's 'Hand of god' in the 1986 World Cup against England, but the Amakhosi defender's effort has seen the term Hand of Gord coined instead.
There are, of course, obvious differences between the two players, but Maradona's goal was in fact more of a punch, while Gordinho's a diving hand that pushed it into the back of the net.
Some would argue that karma did strike back when he was sent off later on in the game for receiving a second yellow, but his action is by no means a positive thing.
Who do you think did the hand of god/or gord better – Gordinho or Maradona?
