Bafana Bafana will be taking on Congo this weekend in what will be our third round of matches for the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, and there is one name not yet known to the general public. That is Fagrie Lakay.
No, he is no relative to Bloemfontein Celtic's Lyle Lakay. Fagrie is a 17-year-old teenager who currently plies his trade with Santos after having come through their Youth Academy.
He made a bit of a name for himself when his stellar performances and goals in the Amajita squad (SA U20) saw Shakes Mashaba's side come out victors over Cameroon to secure their place in the 2015 African Youth Championships.
What makes Lakay special is that his small build is packed with potency and power. He has pace and a natural eye for goal, where he scored against Bafana for Santos in a friendly encounter in Cape Town last month.
Lakay makes up a lot for what some of our striker's are missing, and he can certainly be the secret ingredient for Bafana Bafana when they take on a rough and tough Congo side later this week.
Have you seen Lakay in action? What secret does he hold for Bafana?
