Iker Casillas' parents recently came out to slam Real Madrid for the way the club treated Iker Casillas, and his mom slammed Porto, claiming that the club isn't big enough for her son – but were they correct to step in?
The goalkeeper's parents came out to say that their son wasn't well liked by Florentino Perez, even going as far as to say that the Real president never wanted Casillas to go to a top club, because he doesn't want the player to succeed.
These comments may very well be true, but I'm not sure that it was their place to make the controversial comments.
His mother said that Porto isn't a big enough club for her son, which may cause a very awkward greeting when Casillas rocks up for his first training session at the Portuguese club.
The one thing a fully agree with is that the way 'Saint Iker' was treated was disgusting!
How can a player serve a club for 25 years, and be booed by fans and shipped off by the president as though it was nothing?
It's a sad reality that Casillas may never be remembered for his influence and greatness at the Santiago Bernabéu, but rather for the way he was treated upon his exit.
How will you remember Iker Casillas at Real Madrid?
