Wydad Athletic Club are reportedly close to completing their first signing since Rulani Mokwena stepped in their hot seat.

It seems the newly appointed South African tactician has prioritised an attacker as his first acquisition as manager of the Red Castle.
The president-elect of the Moroccan giants, Hicham Ait Menna, is said to have given Mokwena carte blanche regarding signings and, so far, the club has been mostly linked with forwards.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the Red Castle were looking to acquire the services of Oussema Bouguerra from Esperance de Tunis after it was said he was no longer in the plans of head coach Miguel Cardoso.
Those negotiations are believed to have hit a stumbling block, however, and now a new striker has been touted as being close to making his way to Casablanca.

According to Le360 Sport, the record Botola Pro Inwi champions are currently in discussions with Maghreb de Fes to sign their striker Mouhcine Bouriga.
The 24-year-old had a prolific campaign in Moroccan football last season, scoring 14 goals in 32 matches across all competitions.
The same report claims that the marksman was of serious interest to Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya, but due to their foreign player quota being filled, that deal failed to materialise.

Now, it is believed that Wydad are in pole position to land Bouriga's signature, and a deal is expected to be completed imminently.
