Over the years, we have seen many South Africans head overseas to play football, but the move hasn't always worked out for the best. Here a few stars who were perhaps treated harshly!

It was recently reported that Lokeren's Ayanda Patosi could be headed for the club's exit doors in the near future, as his deal in Belgium is set to expire.

Patosi, who impressed last season, has been overlooked a few times in this campaign already, despite contributing to two goals in the five matches he's played so far. Many clubs are said to be after his signature, but is Patosi a player Lokeren should be letting go?

Tokelo Rantie is another Bafana international who was perhaps misused overseas, with the striker playing just 38 minutes in the Premier League for Bournemouth last season, before joining Genclerbirligi in Turkey.

Former Ajax Cape Town star Thulani Serero is currently being overlooked at Ajax Amsterdam, with the Bafana midfielder not playing a single minute of first team football this season.

The player was said to be seeking a move away from the Netherlands in the most recent transfer window, but after failing to find a new club, Serero is set for a long spell on the sidelines.

Andile Jali, who has had injury problems in recent times, has not played for KV Oostende since May, and while he was initially left out due to his fitness, he seems to have now just dropped down the pecking order. Mzansi fans want to see Jali back in his Belgian side's midfield!
