Ronaldo Offers Financial Aid To Madeira Fire Victims

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has dug deep into his pockets to help out the people of his hometown Madeira, which has been engulfed in wild fires.

The fires have caused mass devastation on the island, and has already claimed three lives, with many evacuations taking place.

It is believed that Ronaldo called the island president Miguel Albuquerque and offered financial aid to people in need.

No actual amount has been reported, but Ronaldo left the following message on his Facebook account for the people of Madeira.

"It is with an aching heart that I'm seeing what's happening in Madeira and other parts of the country," Ronaldo said.

"My support goes out with a thank you to all those firefighters who are bravely risking their lives to save so many others. I am with you."
