The 30-year-old central defender has not played at all this season for the Brazilians, with names like Alje Schut, Thabo Nthethe and Mario Booysen being preferred ahead of him. Sundowns could lose Arendse on a free come the end of the season, when his contract expires, and this may not exactly be a bad thing for the player.
Although a versatile player, who could play at right-back and at centre-back, Evans has hardly featured for Downs this season after being signed from Maritzburg United at the beginning of the campaign. Many Downs fans would argue that this was a needless signing, and his lack of game time could back up those sentiments.
The former Orlando Pirates star faces the task of having to compete with much younger strikers at the club, and could be forced to a bit part role. With the likes of Anthony Laffor and Cuthbert Malajila being in form, Mashego may not see much game time this season.
Once adored by the Sea Robbers faithful, the skilful former Bucs star was an important member of Downs’ title wining campaign last season. However, due to a mixture of competition and injury, Cheeseboy may find it increasingly hard to once again establish himself at the club.
