The Ajax Cape Town man admitted at the end of last season that Chiefs would be the club he would prefer to sign for if he was to return to Gauteng… However, no such deal has transpired. He instead re-signed for Sundowns at the start of this season, before being sent back on-loan to Ajax.
Having been the undisputed star at Lamontville Golden Arrows in the mid-2000s, Zothwane was controversially unveiled as a Kaizer Chiefs player in 2006. However, a contractual dispute between the two clubs meant the then 26-year old stayed at Abafana Bes'thende until he joined Mamelodi Sundowns at a later stage.
