Hello fellow Buccaneers! Yesterday our boys were drawn against SuperSport United in the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, and Ayanda Gcaba has already suggested the tournament will be played in honour of him.
The Sea Robbers progressed into the next round of the competition after having brushed aside Tornado FC with consummate ease, and now just four victories remain to ensure that the title comes to Mayfair.
The Nedbank Cup was the last piece of silverware that the late shot-stopper had helped his team lift, as he was in goal en route to a 3-1 victory over Bidvest Wits in the final.
Meyiwa was largely instrumental in helping our charges reach numerous finals and it is only natural that the team is eager to honour his name.
"It's good just to win a tournament but in this case we have to win it in honour of Senzo. You know this was his last cup that he won and it will be great if we can defend it and win it for him,” said Gcaba.
Meyiwa was also part of the team that won the double treble back in 2010/11 and 2011/12.
It would be a great way to defend the title if it was in honour of Senzo. Ghosts, do you think that this tournament should be played in honour of our former skipper?
