On Sunday, Mamelodi Sundowns' new signing Lucky Mohomi took to the field with a different spelling of his surname on the back of his jersey, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. Can you think of any other instances?
The midfielder, who joined the Brazilians from Free State Stars for a reported figure of R6 million, made his debut in his new jersey against SuperSport United on Sunday afternoon.
What was interesting is that his name was spelt "Mohumi" instead of Mohomi, which has been written on all his other jerseys in previous years.
What remains unknown is whether or not the spelling of his name was changed, or if it was down to human error.
Just last year, Kermit Erasmus had to make his Orlando Pirates debut with the name "Eramus" splashed across his back, while, during his Moroka Swallows career, Edward Manqele had "Mnqele" printed across his shoulders.
Before his move to Italy, Siyabonga Nomvethe's name was spelt without the "h" during his time at Kaizer Chiefs. It was only at Udinese where his name was spelt correctly for the first time.
