It was recently reported by the Siya Crew that Orlando Pirates paid R9 million for the services of Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien. But did you know that was a steal, if nothing else?
The Buccaneers secured the services of both players from Ajax Cape Town, and it has been suggested that they came as a total package for one down payment.
According to Transfermarkt, Mobara's market value is estimated at R7.5 million, while Norodien's net worth is considered to be about R3.75 million.
This then takes their combined value to about R11.25 million, meaning that Muhsin Ertugral's management team underpaid for their services by roughly R2.25 million.
So, upon reflection, the transfer fee was a bargain deal for the Buccaneers, who landed two of Mzansi's most promising players for nearly the full value of Mobara alone.
Do you think Pirates were wise in their dealings?
