Kaizer Chiefs are still determined to secure the services of Fawaaz Basadien, despite reports in other media indicating the door is closed for the Stellenbosch FC defender.
According to Siya sources close to the club, Amakhosi are tabling an improved offer, which they believe Stellenbosch FC will find difficult to refuse this time around.

The sources added that Chiefs are keen on having two experienced left-backs, with Bongani Sam and Basadien in their squad, before the season officially starts.
Soccer Laduma had previously reported how Chiefs had initially offered R10 million for Basadien, which was turned down by the Western Cape side.
"They have now offered a new and improved amount of around R13 million. It's not clear whether that's what Stellies are looking for because they turned down R10 million at first. The club is really interested in Basadien and they are doing all in their powers to have him but you know it will all depend if the new offer of about R13 million is good enough for Stellenbosch," the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that how Bongani Sam's injury has resulted in Amakhosi stepping up their interest in Basadien.

"They want to make sure that when they start the season they have an experienced left back as now they only have Happy Mashiane and Nkosana Mbuthu while Bongani Sam is out injured. As much as the coach wants to keep the youngsters to gain experience and build a future team, he wants two experienced left backs to compete and back up each other. That's why the club had tabled a new offer for Fawaaz (Basadien). They are hoping that around R13m would swerve Stellenbosch to accept the new offer," the second source stated.
The Siya crew also understands that if Chiefs eventually fail in their pursuit of Basadien then Riaan Hanamub will be their next target to fulfill the vacancy. Though, Amakhosi have both their eyes focused on chasing Basadien first.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
