Many have argued that the Premier League has lost its knack of keeping quality players in recent years and that is somewhat true, but who are the players that the league is really missing?
We sent out Red Devil to find five players player’s that the Premier supporters miss seeing week in and week out.
Gareth Bale exploded onto the international stage with Tottenham Hotspur as a young left back, but as he developed he moved further forward. There are a few fond memories of Gareth Bale, but the one that stands out was when Spurs beat Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford, where he absolutely blew the Red Devils away.
The three-time Ballon D’Or winner is arguably yet to be replaced by Manchester United and there are many supporters that wish they still had him around. Ronaldo set many records at the Red Devils and has been linked with a return to the club for a few years now.
There was never a dull moment in the Premier League with the Uruguayan around. He had his moments of brilliance and moments of madness at Liverpool, but it’s safe to say the league does miss him. Suarez helped Liverpool push for the title last season and we can see the club is missing him this time around.
Modric was a key-part of Tottenham Hotspur’s side a few years back and we believe that if they had they kept the player, they may well have been competing with the front runners. The Croatian may not be regarded as highly as other players on this list, but he is a midfielder that Tottenham, and the Premier League, miss dearly.
The Spaniard was a key part of Liverpool’s side before they sold him to Real Madrid. Alonso was a rock in the midfield for the Reds and it’s almost safe to say that they still haven’t found the perfect replacement for him. In terms of controlling the middle of the park, there are not many better than Alonso and the last few years could have been vastly different for Liverpool, and the Premier League, had the Reds kept him.
