It is 99% confirmed that Brazilian super star, Ronaldinho, will be arriving on the African continent to export his trade in the Beautiful game, however, it will not be in South Africa.
The Fan Park crew once posed the question over why Mamelodi Sundowns have never made an attempt to land Ronaldinho.
It looked at how much of a positive affect someone like El Gaucho would have on the PSL and on a team like Sundowns, and how only good things could come from having Ronaldinho on their books for a cameo season.
It seems like another team in Africa has caught onto this idea, and Angolan club, Kabuscorp, look set to land the signature of the 34-year-old for a full season.
This will undoubtedly help cement the Angolan league on the footballing map even more now, as Ronaldinho would be their second big signing after having had Rivaldo on their books too.
Looking at this, one has to ask, has South Africa missed out on this excellent advertisement for the PSL?
If brought down to Mzansi, the Brazilian would’ve undoubtedly brought flocks of fans to whichever stadium he would’ve been at. It would certainly be an excellent initiative to overcome the problem of low crowd attendances, and his presence could spur other big stars to come his way.
Looking at this, do you think the Absa Premiership have missed out on the perfect opportunity of bringing Ronaldinho to our shores?
