With 20 games having been played in the Absa Premiership so far, league leaders Kaizer Chiefs will no doubt do all they can to see out the remaining 10 games of the league season in a winning fashion.
However, before thinking about lifting the trophy, Amakhosi have to face a series of tough challenges, which could test the club’s resolve in the title race.
Let’s take a look at some of the make-or-break fixtures Amakhosi will have to go through.
Orlando Pirates (7 March)
The Soweto Derby may have been rather bland at times in recent years, but that doesn't mean it has lost its importance - as it remains one of the biggest derbies in world football. This particular fixture may come at the right time for the spectators, as Pirates are on form and Chiefs could use this fixture to really get their season going again following a string of poor performances. However, will Bucs be the team to dent Chiefs' title hopes?
Mamelodi Sundowns (29 April)
Champions versus the champions elect - this could be the fixture that produces the most fireworks. Should Downs win their two games in hand they have on Chiefs at the moment, they would be seven points behind Amakhosi. Should the points gap remain the same until this fixture, Downs could rob Chiefs of three vital points and be within four of the number one spot. Will this be the fixture which will decipher who ends the campaign as champions?
Bidvest Wits (6 May)
This will be the penultimate fixture of the season, and facing a possible title contender this late on in the season is never straightforward. Wits have proved to be a thorn in the side of all title candidates in the last couple of seasons, and this could no doubt be yet another frustrating and unpredictable challenge for Amakhosi.
What do you think will be Chiefs' toughest challenge?
