Ahead of the Capital One Cup final between Chelsea and Tottenham, we have decided to make a combined XI of the best players.
Goalkeeper - Hugo Lloris – Tottenham
There are three world-class keepers to choose from, but we have selected Lloris because he has played more games than the other two and has been relied upon more.
Right-back: Branislav Ivanovic - Chelsea
It’s a pretty simple choice selecting Branislav Ivanovic ahead of Kyle Walker, and I don’t think many will disagree here.
Centre-back: John Terry – Chelsea
You must have the most experienced centre-back in England in your side, especially when he is on form.
Centre-Back: Jan Vertonghen - Tottenham
Jan Vertonghen is currently the rock of the Spurs' defence and definitely gets to hold down a starting birth in this side.
Left-Back: Cesar Azpilicueta – Chelsea
Traditionally a right-back, but under Mourinho he has moved to the left and held down a regular spot.
Centre Midfield - Cesc Fabregas - Chelsea
Every side needs a little creativity and that’s exactly what Cesc will bring from the midfield position.
Centre Midfield - Nabil Bentaleb – Tottenham
With Nemanja Matic suspended for this final, we thought it wouldn’t be right to select the Algerian midfielder to come in.
Right Midfield - Christian Eriksen – Tottenham
The Danish midfielder is one of Tottenham’s star players and we believe his creativity and knack for goals would come in handy.
Left Midfield - Eden Hazard - Chelsea
Hazard is fast, skilful and potent in front of goal, which means it would be silly to leave him out of this squad.
Striker- Diego Costa
He is the leading scorer in the Premier League and even though he has been a bit quiet in the past few weeks, he is bound to start scoring again soon.
Striker – Harry Kane
Everything Harry Kane touches this season is turning into goals, so he has forced his way into the side.
Do you agree with the team we selected?
