There is no better feeling in football than to get one over your fiercest rivals. This holds true for every single Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates player going into the Soweto Derby this coming weekend.
In the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 911, Bucs midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo explained the club's desire to derail Chiefs, and what the club intend on doing going forward.
“We want to! We want to take Bucs back to where we belong as and that’s winning trophies!” Bibo said, when asked how much pleasure they will get by derailing Chiefs.
“We didn’t have the best first round. We lost our captain (the late Senzo Meyiwa), but mentally we’re okay now. We want to go for it and win things now. They’ve beaten us twice in the last two derbies and we want to win, we can’t lose this one now,” he added.
This is the type of spirit we want every single Pirates player to be in, the will to win and the desire to see off our rivals. If there was ever a time to make up for lost ground, it would be to at least claim the bragging rights in the Soweto derby.
Is this our time now?
