The skilful winger surprised many by starting the season like a house on fire after being transfer listed ahead of the campaign. His performances have not gone unnoticed though, and at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations there were European scouts keeping an eye on the player. Bullet’s showings in the tournament were short-lived as Bafana crashed out of the AFCON in the group stages, leaving scouts little to report on going home - something which could affect a potential move.
Being one of the best goalkeepers in Africa, Khune has long being linked with a move abroad. Itu’s contract at Chiefs expires at the end of the current season, and he is yet to sign a new deal despite talk of a three-year contract being presented to him. Age could be his biggest stumbling block in this regard. Also, a better and improved deal may even entice Khune to stay in South Africa.
It was revealed in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma that Masha could be eyeing a move abroad, and that it could be the reason why the player has not yet signed a new deal at the club. Like Khune, age may be the biggest factor with regards to a move abroad - especially with him having broken into his 30s.
