Thembi Kgatlana, who missed the Knockout stages of the WAFCON, shared a long message of thanks for Banyana Banyana becoming the Queens of Africa.
Let's have a look...
What's the story?
In her Banyana and WAFCON winners medal, the injured Kgatlana is recovering at home after suffering an Achilles injury which kept her out of the business end of the tournament.
Although she didn't finish the tournament, Kgatlana still walks away with a medal and she took to Instagram to reflect on what it means to be an African champion and thanked the people/organisations that helped her team get there.
Let's see what she said...
Kgatlana's post
The Banyana forward started off her post by thanking her national teammates, the staff, supporters, and loved ones for everything they've done for her.
Kgatlana goes on to say; "For generations and generations South African women footballers have continuously and relentlessly fought to conquer Africa. Today, a group of chosen players have Risen to lift the trophy of being African Champions."

May the past players also rejoice in this victory, for they have paved the way forward in order to make this team better and better - we draw so much inspiration from you Legends."
A special thanks to Sasol
Kgatlana also recognised that major contributions Sasol has made in South African Women's football.
