What's the story?
Forbes Africa released their 30 Under 30 class of 2023 this month, and Banyana's talented forward Thembi Kgatlana is one of South Africans who cracked the nod.
The footballer had a successful 2022 with Banyana on the pitch, playing a part in a historic Africa Women's Cup of Nations win, while making moves off the pitch with charity and her co-authored book.

Thembi Kgatlana: Forbes 30 Under 30
Forbes Africa identified 30 of the continent's brightest and most prospective innovators who are under the age of 30. Along with Thembi Kgatlana, there a host of South Africa's rising stars who made the list.
UFC mixed martial artist Dricus Du Plessis, Amapiano artist Lethabo 'Focalistic' Sebetso, and content creator/beauty influencer Khethokuhle 'Kay Yarms' Ngonyama are just some of the recognisable names featuring alongside Kgatlana.
Kgatlana took to Instagram a couple of days ago to share her digital Forbes 30 Under 30 certificate and was congratulated by Banyana teammates Linda Motlhalo, Thalea Smidt, and Refiloe Jane for her groundbreaking achievement.
Although she missed the pivotal knockout stages of Banyana's WAFCON triumph in Morocco, the talismanic forward was in brilliant form during Banyana's group stage games, including a win over Nigeria.

Kgatlana also secured a move to Racing Louisville in the United States, to ply her trade in the competitive NWSL.
Off the pitch, Kgatlana has quite the resume. She is the author of the books 'Girls Don't Do That and 'Strike A Rock - the Thembi Kgatlana story', both books are co-written with Nikolaos Kirkinis.
She also runs a non profit organisation, Thembi Kgatlana Foundation, where she lends a helping hand in donating sanitary towels to schoolgirls in need and donated soccer boots to Women's Varsity Cup sides like the University of Johannesburg.
