Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho scored a very controversial goal for Amakhosi against Sundowns this weekend, evoking memories of Diego Maradona's infamous "Hand of God" goal against England in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. But can you think of other similar situations?
Gordinho not only scored with his hand but he also handled the ball during the game, and, unfortunately for him, his dexterity skills saw him take an early shower.
"Baba ka Sbongile", as Gordinho is affectionately known in football circles, is not the first Chiefs player to have controversially handled a ball during a game.
Back in 2003, in a Coca-Cola Cup clash against Santos, Arthur Zwane used his hand to stop a ball that had a goal written over it. "10111" pulled off a great save on the goal line, an infringement which went unpunished by referee Enoch Radebe.
Another handball incident that comes to mind involves Ian Wright, when the former England striker used his hand to control the ball before scoring against Bafana Bafana in 1997.
In addition, the ever-controversial Luis Suarez also pulled off some "hand magic" that irked many Africans when he stopped a goal-bound shot with his hands in a quarter-final encounter between Uruguay and Ghana in the 2010 World Cup.
What you think of Lorenzo's "Hand of Gord"?
