A while back we reported that Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, was set to make his first appearance on the big screen, but it looks like the player will have to wait a little longer to gain Hollywood status.
Ronaldo was reportedly set to star in Martin Scorsese's, The Manipulator, where scenes of the movie will be filmed at his New York loft in the lavish Trump Tower.
According to Gazzetta World, due to the star's apartment being used for the movie, Scorsese promised Ronaldo a role in the movie.
However, the award-wining director has reportedly reversed his decision, as he fears that all the hype surrounding the movie will be around Ronaldo's Hollywood debut, which would take attention from the blockbuster itself.
Despite the snub, it's believed that the 30-year-old will be paid around €10 million in compensation, and the role will be played by actor Channing Tatum.
The move is based on the life of Italian millionaire, Alessandro Proto, and even he said that he didn't want Ronaldo to play him in the film.
"Ronaldo is a great player, but that doesn't mean he is the king of the world. I don't want him in a film about my life. Martin Scorsese is in agreement with me. Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to be in the film," he said according to the Mirror.
"I am sorry if he doesn't feel valued, but in life you win some and you lose some. If I really have to give him €20 million, I will give it to him with my own hands."
