The story

Former Arsenal midfielder and 1998 FIFA World Cup winner, Robert Pires, surprised some passionate Gooners at the Betway x Arsenal match screening event at Coppers Craft Bar Grill in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Pires, who was part of the famous Arsenal Invincibles team, fielded questions from SuperSport TV presenter, Fiso Mazibuko and spoke about his career-altering move to the Gunners and winning the Premier League under Arsene Wenger among other topics.

Despite the English giants falling short away to Inter Milan, 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League on the night, it was a great opportunity for South African Gunners to get up close and personal to a club legend.

Former Bafana Bafana superstars and Betway ambassadors, Hlompho Kekana, Happy Jele, Katlego Mphela, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane were also on hand to meet and greet the former France International at the event.
