In football, players tend hold back their celebrations when scoring against their former clubs. This they do out of respect; however, there are the select few who celebrate nonetheless.
Today I, Captain Alzheimers, will look at four Premier Soccer League stars that scored and celebrated against their former clubs.
Collins Mbesuma vs Orlando Pirates
In this particular game, Mbesuma opened the scoring with a towering header in the 11th minute, followed by a dance routine celebration. He had the last laugh as Mpumalanga Black Aces won the game 2-1.
Thamsanqa Sangweni vs Mamelodi Sundowns
In the first round of the Absa Premiership, Sangweni scored and celebrated against the team he is on-loan from in an exciting 1-1 draw.
Dove Wome vs Mamelodi Sundowns
This was a memorable celebration for Wome as, after scoring against his former club Sundowns, he signalled a telephone like gesture to the Downs bench.
Eleazar Rogers's vs Mamelodi Sundowns
Probably the most memorable goal of the lot, Rogers was seen leaving Downs defender Mario Booysen for dead in a sprint to the penalty area and capped the run off with a clinical finish. He celebrated by going to the corner flag and saying a prayer on his knees.
Which goal and celebration was your favourite?
