The German returned for pre-season duty with a whole new look as he showed off a head of blond hair. Now sure to stand out from the rest, the former Real Madrid has since explained why he dyed his hair this colour.

"It was a bet between me, (Alexandre) Lacazette, Shkodran (Mustafi) and Sead Kolasinac; it was crossbar challenge so Lacazette was the winner," Ozil explained, as quoted by Spanish publication Marca.
"We were the losers, me, Sead and Mustafi, and the bet was to change the hair a different colour so what I did was blond, Sead green and Mustafi tried something different, but in the end of dyeing he was unhappy and changed the colour of his hair back. So that is what happened, that's it!"
