Lionel Messi's jersey
The crowning moment in Messi's fairytale career came on Sunday after Argentina outlasted the French in what's already been regarded as the greatest final of all time.
Scoring two goals on the day and walking away with the Golden Ball award, it was simply Messi's day. Unsurprisingly, it was revealed by adidas that his jersey was sold out before kick-off, and the demand is even higher after the final.
According to the StockX price history graph, Messi's number 10 jersey was going for as much as $627 (R10 845) on the day of the World Cup final.
The popular re-sale site says the jersey's retail price is $120 (R2 075), but with people being able to bid for items on there, prices tend to exceed the retail value more often than not.
The last jersey sold on the site went for $350 (R6 052), but soon, fans won't have to go through desperate measures to obtain Messi's home Argentina jersey.
As per CNN, adidas revealed that there's upgraded jerseys and merchandise on the way:
"Since their history-making win we have produced a range of immediately available celebratory apparel and we will also create a brand new version of their iconic jersey, featuring three stars to mark their third World Championship, for fans around the globe as soon as possible," said the German sportswear giants.

During Argentina's homecoming parade, the players and staff are seen wearing a special white adidas top, with the logo in Argentine colours and it's accompanied by the three stars that represent that amount of World Cups won by the South American champs.
