The Manchester United attacker is one of the most popular players in the world today, with his fame stretching beyond the borders of the football world. Today, Ronaldo has celebrity like status, as seen with his huge social media following.
400 Million!
Ronaldo, who recently celebrated his 37th birthday, hit the 400 million followers mark on Instagram. The former Real Madrid star is the first person to hit the milestone with the official Instagram account on the platform being the only account to have more followers.
While Ronaldo sits at the top of the Instagram followers pile, the Portuguese star is ahead of A-list celebrities by some distance. Behind him is Kylie Jenner (309m), Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (295m) and Ariana Grande (294m).
Going Strong
CR7's long standing rival in the beautiful game, Lionel Messi, is likewise one of the most followed figures on IG today. Last month, the Paris Saint Germain star hit the 300 million followers point as he thanked his adoring fans with a gallery of memories.
That being said, Ronaldo also has the 2nd most liked photo on the network, with his twin pregnancy accountment hitting over 30 million likes.
